Yes the birds will love this cornmeal suet cake recipe and yes this is a great project to undertake the next time you cook up some beef, pork or chicken. Birds LOVE suet cakes and they really enjoy them when they are packed full of yummy goodness. Meat fat, peanut butter and cornmeal will attract a variety of wild birds to your yard. Woodpeckers, nuthatches, chickadees, cardinals and insect eating birds will enjoy most any suet cake that you place in your yard feeder(s).

This homemade cornmeal suet cake recipe is very simple and can be made anytime you have excess meat fat to mix with peanut butter and cornmeal.

Just pour your excess meat fat right into the You Do It Suet® mold while it’s still hot, mix in cornmeal and peanut butter (any amount will do), keep adding peanut butter and cornmeal until you have a full You Do It Suet® mold. Freeze. Release the homemade cornmeal suet cake from the You Do It Suet® mold and place in your yard.  Be sure to feed this suet cake to the wild birds during the colder months as it will melt in the warmer weather.
